2025 - Time to Change Again
If you have been around for any length of time you also know how fast time can and does go. I have been blessed beyond measure with an incredible musical journey, friendships and experiences easily priceless.
Things are changing, I am changing, my songwriting is changing. I am still motivated to create original music of my own but also very interested in helping others who share the passions I do, so over the past two years I have been involved in a number of songwriting camps aimed at working with high school aged aspiring songwriters. It has been blast.
Having the opportunity to work with some amazing pros is the icing on the cake. Top of that list has been Chris Kirby, together we have lead an incredible team. You may not know the names Jamie O'Toole or Joey Savoy but as educators they have truly made this all possible.
Our team also includes teacher educators including Charlie Mason, Greg Webber and Emily Comeau. Guest pros have included the A-list of artists including Nicole Ariana, Kim Dunn, Corey Laurie, Ian Sherwood, Logan Richard, Terra Spencer and last but not least... Matt Andersen who is really the reason we are able to do these camps. Thank you all, sure hope we can continue to make these things happen.
Other Changes:
Kind of silly I suppose but I am kind of re-branding again - it is still me but I am going to push how I have been personally known for over 40 years - Van Whalen... for obvious reasons. Let's too how it goes!

Terry Whalen has released his 7th album titled "Terry Whalen and Friends - There Ain't Nothing in this World", this has been a long time coming. Covid 19 has had its way and emergency spinal fusion surgery and recovery entered the equation as well in May 2020. Here we are a little over a year later and the new CD is here. The new CD includes guest appearances by some of the most respected musicians in the business, individuals Terry can count as dear friends.
The new CD " Ain't Nothing in this World" and includes contributions from Steve Marriner, Matt Andersen, Garrett Mason, Ross Neilsen, John Campbelljohn, Bobby Cameron, Travis Furlong and other talented and generous musicians.
In addition, proceeds, in full, from the sale of this album will be donated to the SPCA. We have a strong connection to animals and to their care.
Please be kind to animals and report incidents of animal cruelty to the proper authorities.
The Terry Whalen Band is a 3-Time ECMA Nominee for Blues Recording of the Year (2009, 2010, 2012) and a two time Music NB Award Winner for Blues Recording (2012, 2015).
